Welcome to Goldenwood Farm!
Here we are striving for an animal that can do well in the show ring while not compromising what I personally like which is the slightly older style, deep bodied animal.
My love affair with LaManchas started back in 2002 and I haven't looked back since then. I love an animal with a strong, dairy structure, deep body, and good bone that still puts milk in the pail and maintains a decent weight. Another must is easy to hand milk teats, I don't like an doe that gives you a hand cramp just looking at them. I breed for what I like and enjoy while still trying to maintain show quality animals. All my LaManchas are bred for that well known easy going, sweet disposition.
I love the older lines and as such I
am trying to keep those lines alive somewhat in my herd. I use yearly Linear Appraisal as a guide to see where my herd is tracking and to help in continuing to improve and maintain a great standard.
I invite
you to look around, feel free to drop me a comment and let me know what
you think.
